July, 2006

We try never to miss the Fourth of July parade in Saxton's River (a village just west of Bellows Falls). This young lady isn't too thrilled over the sirens from the fire equipment at the end, however!
One of the features of the parade that we always enjoy the most is a troupe of Morris dancers from nearby Brattleboro (the town where the 1960s went to retire).
Here's Penney, taking her new kayak for a "test drive". She liked it, bought it, and looks forward to using it on the Portage River back home.

And what would Summer be like without our annual trip to Boothbay Harbor, Maine? This is the view from our motel balcony . . . 'nuf sed.
This is the view at dawn.
Boothbay Harbor from the other direction; we're eating at a lobster wharf (see next photo).
Penney and Mom about to dive into some serious seafood.
Another lobster dinner photo!
And another gorgeous Maine sunset.

Penney and Mom at the Ocean Point Inn, near where Mom stayed as a young woman (we actually ate something other than lobster that night!).
