The Cloverleaf Middle School Veterans' Day Concert is the first big performance for Andrew's bands each Fall, and he puts a great deal of ingenuity into the program as well as a great deal of work, choosing not just patriotic potboilers but music of seriousness and substance.

This year, he borrowed an idea from Penney's middle school in Lakewood, and asked students and staff to bring in photographs and other memorabilia of veterans who are or were members of their family; these were installed on red, white and blue construction paper on one wall of the performance space, forming a large American flag. (Somehow, we managed to not get a photo of this! Come back next year.)

Penney, reflecting satisfaction with everything.
We have spent Thanksgiving with Gary and Maryanne Cline and their children, Kathleen and Ross, for many years, and we're fortunate to have our own children, Andrew, Emily and Paul, join us for at least part of the day.
