March, 2007

I don't know what it is about March events, but (for the second year in a row) we apparently didn't take any pictures of them!

However, some things did happen:

  • We got a new garage door installed (badly needed and really nice . . . but who takes pictures of their garage door?!)

  • We went to watch Abby Kovacic (parishioner at Christ Church, Warren) receive her Gold Award (the Girl Scout equivalent of the Eagle Badge in Boy Scouting); Bob gave the opening prayer.

  • We attended the District 7 Spring Conference for the United States Power Squadrons (a boating organization to which Bob belongs and at which he was installed as District Chaplain).

  • Bob had a horrible experience with his new truck: a faulty trailer hitch caused the powerboat and trailer to come detached from the truck; the rig was caught by a 35-mph tailwind and instead of stopping, crossed six lanes of traffic and a median on the Berea Freeway. Miraculously, it didn't hit anything, but a young woman driving a Honda Civic (who saw the loose rig and stopped) was rear-ended by a contractor's dump truck (which didn't and didn't). No serious injuries, thank God.
