September, 2011

We drove every day past this …

… and this …

… to reach Mom's bedside.

Mom fell early in the morning of August 22 and fractured two cervical vertebrae. After a trip to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (via Springfield Hospital) she was sent to Grace Cottage Hospital in picturesque Townshend, VT, to recuperate.

Mom stayed in GCH until September 17, when we loaded her and a supply of clothing, household goods and the like into Penney's car and my truck and headed back to Ohio. Mom is now living with us for the duration.

Just before we left, one of the fine old houses in Bellows Falls caught fire (left); it was pretty much a total loss.

Friends Frank and Abby Labus at Bruce and Mary Kathryn's wedding

Longtime friend of Bob's, Bruce Kargin, was married in September to Mary Kathryn.

Here we are at the wedding!

What would Fall be without pumpkins? Here's Granddaughters Olivia (left) and Adalyn (right) enjoying the nice weather.

Unfortunately, getting settled meant that we had almost no time to take pictures during October and November. We trust we'll be forgiven!

So, the next month will be December!
